Other Interests

Wine
I am a Founder member of the Free Run Wine Society.
A "futures" and "super futures" owner in Grangehurst Winery in the Helderberg outside of Stellenbosch.

Beer
I have been brewing my own beer for a number of years now.
I use the The Home Brew Shop in Komatie Road Emmarenttia and The Beer Keg as my sources for hops, etc.
Cricket
The greatest game of all!
I have many years of league cricket behind me and hopefully many years of watching ahead of me. My favourite spot in the Wanderers Stadium is in block EE of the Centenary Pavilion on the northern or golf course side of the ground.

Original developer of the Gauteng Cricket Board (formerly Transvaal Cricket Board) web page. This page has now been taken over by the Gauteng Cricket Board.

Golf
In 2000 I made a return to golf after a "retirement" of 27 years. I started with a 30 handicap in September 2000 and am currently a 28 handicap (this after the 2010 changes to the national handicapping system). I am trying hard to improve my handicap but have had some ups and downs.

I broke 100 (gross 99) for the first time at Nigel Golf Club on Monday 16 April 2001. I have managed this quite a few more times since. I broke 95 for the first time in June 2003 (92 at Bethlehem Golf Club).
I still hope to break 90 one day.

Pets
The owner/feeder/custodian of Ella (a cross of some type (11/2010-)) and Zoe (X-Doberman/Rotweiler maybe (about 08 July 2011 -)).
Pets who are no longer with me are Sooty (Water Spaniel), Holly (X-GSD), Peggy (grey tabby cat), Bess (abyssinian), Sebastian (grey tabby cat), Ginger (Goof) (ginger tabby), Megan (X-labrador (c1982 - 5 September 1995)), Buddy (X-border collie(c1984 - 1 November 1996)), Mac (grey tabby cat (c1983 - 3 September 2000)), Audrey (X-GSD (3/87-27 January 2001)), Sue (ginger tabby (c1983-14 November 2001)), Abraxus (X-Spaniel/Golden Retriever (c1995-15 September 2007)), Mysty (Blue Burmese (c1990-14 November 2007)), Becca (X-GSD/Golden retriever (7/97-15 November 2010)), Roisin (pronounced Ro-sheen) (X-something (11/2001- 30 December 2010)) and Darcy (X-GSD (10/99-16 September 2011)).
I miss them all immensely and will never forget the time we shared.

Arb things

Due to polio suffered when I was about 6 months old, I have feet of different sizes so really I need to have shoes of different sizes. Buying "pairs" of shoes of different sizes is impossible in South Africa and getting specially made shoes is prohibitively expensive. Buying two pairs of shoes and throwing away the ones I don't need is expensive.

I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has the same problem. Maybe we can change things somehow.
