This paper proposes a highly asymmetric approach to achieving a Scalable
Architecture for Video on Demand (SAVoD). The approach is to stream
multiple copies of each movie 1 minute apart, to allow for quick switching
between movies, and to allow for operations like fast forward and rewind.
The proposed approach extends other ideas of asymmetric communication to
the limit: there is no communication back up the high-speed interconnect.
